Boxing Out

The general principle of boxing out is simple.
To negotiate you way around an impedement on the route of the bearing you are walking on.

step 1
Walking on bearing, on approaching the obstacle turn + 90 degrees, walk for a number of paces untill you have passed the end of the obsacle note, the number of paces taken.

Step 2
Turn - 90 degrees back onto the original bearing and walk past the obstacle, the number of paces does not matter as long as you are clear of the obstacle.

Turn - 90 degrees and walk back counting the same number of paces you noted in step 1.

Step 4
Turn + 90 degrees back on to your original bearing, if you have been careful and counted the steps correctly you wll also be on the same line you were originally walking on.
